LAKELAND, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team raced in the Sunshine State Conference Championship on Saturday morning, finishing in seventh place overall at Holloway Park. The meet, hosted by Florida Southern, featured a 6K course which saw several Eagles run career-best 6K times.
Ukeyvia Beckwith made it five-for-five in 2021 as the top Eagle finisher, running 23:35, the fastest 6K time of her career. Beckwith finished 18th overall with
Rachel Jones close behind in 26th (24:10).
Kelly Steffens also ran a career-best time of 24:22, placing 32nd, and
Maggie Allen finished 34th in 24:27. The final Eagle scorer was
Grayson Iller in 43rd. Iller's time of 24:54 was the fastest 6K mark of her collegiate career.
Ravyn Edge was 44th (25:05) with her fastest 6K time ever, while
Alaina Rider was 49th overall in 25:28 in her SSC Championship debut, just ahead of
Brianna Grotzinger in 50th (25:28).
Also finishing for the Blue and Gold were
Sara Towers (53rd - 25:42),
Tara Gilligan (70th - 26:45), Laina Tallman Bogusta (76th - 28:15), and
Olivia Dalberg (78th - 28:42).
The Eagles next turn their sights to the NCAA II South Region Championship on Nov. 6 at The Abbey Course in St. Leo, Florida.Â
