HUNTSVILLE, Alabama - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team registered 11 career best 5K times on Saturday at the University of Alabama-Huntsville Invitational. The Eagles placed 19th overall in a very competitive field in their 2021 regular season finale.
The Eagles totaled 540 points at John Hunt Park, led by
Ukeyvia Beckwith's 58th-place finish in 18:40.15, setting her personal-best time by 16 seconds.
Kelly Steffens (108th - 19:23.18) also set a career best time, with
Rachel Jones finishing 138th (19:42.23),
Maggie Allen placing 164th (20:01.20) and
Sara Towers going a career-fastest 20:13.58 to finish 169th overall and round out the Eagle scorers.
Laina Tallman Bogusta (171st - 20:15.42) and
Abby Valley (179th - 20:24.04) factored into the Eagle top seven finishers, while
Alaina Rider (197th - 20:46.90) and
Tara Gilligan (198th - 20:47.27) finished within a second of one another.
Ravyn Edge (217th - 21:09.76),
Brianna Grotzinger (221st - 21:12.62),
Morgan Dudley (242nd - 21:58.42),
Olivia Dalberg (255th - 22:46.15), and
Kaijah Ma (269th -Â 24:21.36) also ran for the Blue and Gold.
Lee won the meet with 53 points, followed by Southern Indiana (82), Dallas Baptist (138), Pittsburgh State (198) and MSU Denver (202). Saint Leo (250) was the top SSC team in the standings.
The Eagles will now prepare for the postseason, starting with the SSC Championship on Oct. 23 in Lakeland, Florida at Holloway Park.Â
