DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team hosted the 2021 Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning on ERAU's athletic complex with the Blue and Gold placing second overall in the team standings. Saturday's meet was the 18th annual ERAU Classic, featuring 10 women's collegiate teams.
The Eagles were led by
Ukeyvia Beckwith as the senior finished as the meet runner-up in 19:40.0, just behind race winner Nancy Habib from Seton Hall (19:30.6). Beckwith's second-place finish was the third top-10 of her cross country career.
Anna Miller (19:57.9) was fifth overall and
Rachel Jones (20:27.0) was 10th, with
Maggie Allen (20:38.4) placed 11th and
Kelly Steffens (20:43.4) in 13th rounded out ERAU's scorers. Miller registered her fourth top-10 finish, and Jones finished in the top-10 for the second time in her career.
Ravyn Edge (21:21.8),
Laina Tallman Bogusta (21:36.8), and
Sara Towers (21:42.3) all placed in the top-30 overall, with
Abby Valley (22:15.3) in 35th and
Tara Gilligan (22:15.4) in 36th.
Also competing for Embry-Riddle were
Kaijah Ma (22:32.6),
Alaina Rider (22:46.7),
Nithya Chummar (23:00.6),
Brianna Grotzinger (23:06.2), and Olviai Dalberg (24:24.9)
Seton Hall won the team title with 32 points, edging out the Eagles (41). Truett-McConnell (103), Flagler (107), and Daytona State (115) rounded out the top-five.
The Blue and Gold will travel to Saint Leo, Florida next Saturday for the NCAA II National Preview at The Abbey Course.
