DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team improved on their showing at last season's Sunshine State Conference Championship on Saturday morning, finishing fifth overall at the 2022 event, two places higher than last year. The Eagles, who served as meet host, placed five runners in the top 30 overall, led by
Ariana Anderson who finished 12th.
Embry-Riddle - 110 points [12-16-26-27-29 (42) (43)]
Embry-Riddle's total time was 1:59.55 and the Blue and Gold totaled 110 points in the seven-team field. Palm Beach Atlantic (49) held off Tampa (54) for the team title, the first in their program's history. Nova Southeastern (81) finished third, and Saint Leo (87) was fourth, followed by Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern (122), and Lynn (186).

Anderson ran a time of 23:18.72 for her 12th-place finish, followed by
Mackenzie Keller in 23:37.71 in 16th who narrowly missed out on being the top freshman finisher in the race by just five seconds.
Anna Miller (24:10.98) and
Ravyn Edge (24:22.30) finished 27th and 28th, respectively, and
Caroline Harris (24:24.46) rounded out the ERAU scorers.

Next Up
The Eagles will continue in the postseason in two weeks at the NCAA II South Region Championship on Saturday, Nov. 19. The race will be held at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida.
