Men’s Rowing Gets a Win at Florida Tech

FELLSMERE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's rowing team competed in a trio of races against Florida Tech at the 2,000m-long Canal 54 on Saturday. Conditions were fair with a 10mph south crosswind. 

In Varsity Eight, the boat of Mason Anderson, Isaac Dunavant, Nick Horn, Frederic Knecht, Vaclav Kuncak, Alec Palmer (coxswain), Blake Paynter, Matthew Talty, and Joshua Thornburgh clocked in at 6:29.5 to finish second.

Anderson, Horn, Knecht, Alexis Mathis (coxswain), and Talty then rowed to a second-place finish in Varsity Four with a time of 7:18.8. 

Lastly, the Eagles picked up a win in the Pair as Kuncak and Paynter earned a time of 7:19.8 to win by over 32 seconds.

Embry-Riddle gets back in the water on April 1 at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
