ORLANDO, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team split time between the University of Central Florida Black and Gold Invitational and the IMG Academy Spring Break Invitational on Friday. The Eagles competed in a variety of events at the UCF meet, but the three ERAU entries at the IMG Academy meet competed solely in the decathlon.
 
In the first event of the decathlon, Heinrich Adriaanse (11.75) and James Sorenson (11.90) recorded personal bests in the 100m dash. Adriannse (6.32m (20-9)) and Aiden Barnes (6.20m (20-4.25)) both had PRs in the long jump and all three hit PRs in the high jump, with Adriaanse posting a leap of 1.89m (6-2.25), and Sorenson and Barnes with marks of 1.68m (5-6) and 1.65m (5-5), respectively. The final event of the day was the 400m and that event was won by Sorensen in 53.67, while Adriaanse ran the fastest 400m of his career in 53.87, as did Barnes in 1:03.80.
 
Conrad Prisby highlighted the Eagles' performances at the Black and Gold Invite with a PR and ERAU season-best 4.61m (15-1.5) leap in the pole vault.
 
Competition at both the Black and Gold Invitational and the IMG Academic Spring Break Invitational will conclude on Saturday.
