WINTER PARK, Florida - The Embry-Riddle men's rowing program began their 2022 spring slate with an impressive performance at the Tars Regatta on Saturday morning, winning three of the four races.
In the day's first race, the Varsity 8 boat beat out both Rollins 'A' and 'B' boats, finishing in 6:10.8, five seconds faster than Rollins' 'A' boat. The boat included
Maricarin Minnock,
Vaclav Kuncak,
Guillermo Mazzilli,
Ognjen Srbinovic,
Blake Paynter,
Nick Horn,
Isaac Dunavant,
Frederic Knecht, and
Matthew Talty.
In the Varsity 4 (
Alec Palmer, Mazzilli, Kuncak, Srbinovic, and Paynter), the Eagles dominated the Tars, finishing in 7:06.7, more than 20 seconds faster than Rollins. The same was true for the Varsity 4 "B" race, as ERAU (
Alexis Mathis, Horn,
Mason Anderson, Knecht, Talty) placed first in 7:35.0.
In the Varsity 4 "C" race, the Eagles posted a time of 8:40.8 in a boat consisting of Minnock,
Joshua Thornburgh, Dunavant,
Brandon Babey, and
Sean Richardson.
Embry-Riddle travels to DeLand to take on Stetson on Friday, March 11 at the Stetson Aquatic Center.
