Three Eagles Claim SSC Weekly Honors

| By:
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Three Embry-Riddle student-athletes received Sunshine State Conference weekly honors as Jacob Callahan was tabbed as the Men's Soccer Player of the Week while Jaden McBride and Haley Manjack were the Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

Callahan had a monster week for Embry-Riddle men's soccer, recording four goals in just 31 minutes of action over two matches. The freshman forward scored on both shots in a 4-4 tie at Flagler on Tuesday before repeating the feat at home in a 4-2 defeat of Spring Hill on Friday. He became the first Eagle since 2013 to score four or more times in a two-match span.

This is just the second-ever SSC Offensive Player of the Week award for Embry-Riddle men's soccer and the first since Teddy West won it on Oct. 1, 2018.

McBride and Manjack were an impactful duo for Eagle volleyball at the Flagler Saints Classic last week, helping the Blue and Gold to three sweeps in the tournament.

In all four matches, McBride registered at least 13 kills in each match. She also picked up a total of 39 digs, seven aces, and two blocks for three double-doubles. It was the junior's second SSC Offensive Player of the Week award of her career after receiving the same honor as a freshman back on Sept. 13, 2021. Additionally, it's the first time an Eagle won the award since Cameron Gilleland did so on Nov. 1, 2021.

Joining the team as a walk-on this year, Manjack has quickly made an impact, getting inserted into the starting lineup in each of the four matches this past week. The middle blocker earned SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors thanks to her 19 total blocks, 17 kills, and a .452 hitting percentage over 12 sets played.

Also of note, this is just the second time in program history ERAU has won the SSC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards in the same week, with the only other occurrence being Melanie Canfield and Olivia Roa on Sept. 16, 2019.
