GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team completed the second of two days competing in the Florida Collegiate Invitational at the Alachua County Sports Complex, continuing to set personal records and achieve some of the best marks in program history as it did on day one.
Conrad Prisby set an indoor personal record with a 4.70m leap in the pole vault, finishing in fourth place and placing him in ninth on the all-time program chart.
Kobe Diggs won the triple jump, with his 14.15m leap being 0.66m ahead of second place and putting him ninth in program history in the event.
Derick Brown came in second place in the 60m hurdles preliminaries, heading to the finals after running it in 8.34.
In the 60m hurdles final, Brown came in second place with a time of 8.19, which hit a provisional standard and is also the seventh-best time in program history.
Craig Dedrick III tied a personal record in the 60m, running it in 7.00 after having previously done so at the Florida University Invitational on Feb. 9, 2023, also tying himself for the eighth-best time in program history in the process. Diggs (7.25) also set a personal best in the event. The race was won by Noah Lyles, who is a six-time world champion and an Olympic medalist.
Adam Landen ran the 400m in 49.34, coming in third place and giving him the fourth-best time in program history.
Walker Cowherd set a personal best in the event, running it in a time of 52.53.
The 3000m was very good for ERAU, with
Simon Cole (8:43.62) and
Brandon Santangelo (8:45.65) finishing in second and third place respectively. In addition, they and
Ethan Stout (8:52.81) all set personal records in the event.
The men came in fourth place in the 4x400m relay, as the team of
Carter Speh, Landen,
Colin McHugh and Brown ran it in a time of 3:20.77, the seventh-best in program history.
The Eagles will return to action next Friday on Feb. 2 as they'll be competing in the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic at the Alachua County Sports Complex.
