DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Women's Track and Field dominated the Eagles Invite, winning seven different events in addition to numerous top five finishes at the ERAU Track & Field Complex.
Maxi Kirschner and
Hailey Bruce took the top two spots in the javelin with 40.63m and 40.39m throws, while
Sophia Gustely and
Leah Bartlett's 34.28m and 33.87m throws placed them in fourth and fifth. Bruce's mark also signified a personal record.
Sydney Cash came in second place in the shot put with a 9.07m toss.
Cash then placed in fifth place in the 100m hurdles, running it in 16.96.
The Eagles grabbed three top-five spots in the long jump, as
Dejah Saunders (5.04m),
Cerenity Daise (4.88m) and
Leah Bartlett (4.63m) came in second, fourth and fifth respectively, with Daise setting an outdoor personal best.
Kirsten Rolle and
Madison Morris took the top two spots in the hammer with marks of 49.88m and 42.61m respectively.
In the triple jump, Daise set a career record of 10.70m.
Nithya Chummar finished third in the 400m with a time of 1:01.57, followed by
Maria Persson in fourth with 1:02.34, as Chummar ran the fastest time of her career.
Michala Daniels came in fifth place in the 100m in 12.67, as she set a personal record.
Embry-Riddle grabbed two top-five spots in the 800m as
Taylor Roth (2:13.42) and
Caroline Harris (2:16.07) placed in first and fifth, with Roth's time being a career record
Shenya Patrice finished in second in the 200m with a time of 25.27, while
Tanija Turner placed fourth with 26.49, a personal best.
Morris and Gustely took first and second in the discus with 43.16m and 36.81m, while Bruce (31.32m) and
Barrett Cutshall (26.04m) came in fourth and fifth place.
Kelly Steffens placed first in the 3000m steeplechase with a 12:05.20 time.
Piper Kimes (3.20m),
Resa Akers (2.90m) and Kirschner (2.60m) made up the top three spots in the pole vault, with Akers setting a pesonal record.
MacKenzie Keller captured first place in the 1500m with a time of 4:31.36 as Chummar set a career best time of 5:03.22.
Alaina Rider came in fifth place in the 5000m, running it in 19:29.64.
The Eagles are set to stay at home, as ERAU will host the Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Championships on April 29-30.
