Men’s Track and Field Breaks Two Program Records at USF’s South Florida Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Men's Track and Field took part in the South Florida Invitational, setting two new program records in the event hosted by the University of South Florida.

Ryan Flournoy came in first place in the javelin, as his 64.18m throw set a program record. Behind him was Chase O'Connell (57.46m) in third place. 


Antonio Caito set the program's indoor triple jump record in the spring, and on Friday, he set the outdoor record as well, finishing second overall with a leap of 15.29m.

Colin McHugh set a personal record of 15.20 in the 110m hurdles.

In the shot put, Michael Holmberg's 12.11m toss set a new career best.

Nicholas Scarangelli set a personal best in the 1500m by running it in 3:58.


K'Anthony Benjamin ran the fourth-fastest 100m time in ERAU history, as his time of 10.61 was also a personal record. Carter Speh (11.15) also set a personal best.

In the 800m, William Fiesbeck set a career-best time of 1:57.04.


Jacob Swavely (43.37m) and Joshua Dixon (42.04m) both set personal records in the discus.


Brandon Santangelo won the 5000m, running it in a career-best time of 14:59.51.

It's two weeks off for the Eagles, as they next will compete at home in the Eagles Invite at the ERAU Track & Field Complex on Saturday, April 20.
