Men’s Rowing Captures Second-Straight State Title

SARASOTA, Fla.- Embry-Riddle Men's Rowing defended it's state title on Saturday as the Eagles were crowned FIRA Champions. It's the program's second-straight FIRA title and the third in the program's history. The Eagles amassed three golds, two silvers and one bronze medal.

THE RESULTS
  • As the second-seeded boat in Varsity 8, the Eagles matched those expectations with a silver medal in a tightly-contested race. RV Florida Tech edged Embry-Riddle (6:08.33) by 1.88 seconds. However, ERAU did upset RV Jacksonville by just over half a second. 
  • A pair of JV8s concluded the morning session, with the 'A' boat winning by four seconds (6:19.88) over Jacksonville and the 'B' boat coming in third (6:28.03).
  • ERAU started the afternoon with wins in F/N8 (6:16.11) and singles (7:46.59).
  • A pair of entries in JV fours had the Eagles coming away with second (7:04.32) and third (7:13.02) place finishes.
  • The Blue and Gold carried on with a fourth-place showing in doubles (7:28.25).
  • A time of 7:45.28 had ERAU's F/N8 boat fourth to cross the finish line. 
  • Embry-Riddle closed out the FIRA Championships with a bronze medal in varsity fours (6:55.07).
