MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team made a strong statement in the 2025 Sunshine State Conference (SSC) postseason awards, with eight student-athletes named to the All-Conference teams, as announced by the Sunshine State Conference office on Friday. The Eagles earned three first team selections and five second team honors, following a historic season where they were co-regular season champions and claimed their first SSC tournament round victory.
In addition to the student-athlete accolades, first-year head coach, Christia Nikolai was named Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year, which is a program first. This honor comes from her peers after she has led the Eagles to their best season in program history. The Eagles were 6-1 in conference play and secured the No. 3 spot in the SSC tournament. They also achieved a regular season win against top-ranked University of Tampa for the first time in ERAU history and remain at No.4 in the IWLCA for the fourth consecutive week.
Kenley Zeruto earned her first SSC First Team honor in her third appearance on an All-Conference team. Zeruto set ERAU program records for most points (95) and assists (65) in a single season. She now holds the all-time program records for career assists (141), career points (256), and is the first Eagle to reach 100 career goals, 100 assists, and 200 points. Zeruto also led the entire conference in assists, finishing the season with 26 more than the next closest player.
Eliana Enners joined the first team for her second consecutive season as the Eagles' leading goal scorer with 54 goals, including four game-winners. She also leads the team in draw controls with 82 and collected 49 ground balls. Enners achieved three major career milestones this season, surpassing 100 draw controls, goals, and points.
Rounding out the SSC First Team was senior captain,
Kaitlyn Henry, who returned to the First Team for the second time, having previously earned the honor in 2023. She reached 100 career ground balls this season and led the team with 30 caused turnovers.
Fellow senior and captain,
Callison Foreman was named to the SSC Second Team for the second straight year. The attacker has scored 40 goals this season, bringing her career total to 100, and she recorded a personal-best 21 assists.
Sophomore midfielders,
Caitlin Gavin and
Ava Rogala won SSC second-team honors. Gavin's stat line consists of 33 goals this season, 11 assists, two game-winning goals, 27 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers. She also broke the ERAU all-time record for caused turnovers in a career with just her second season under her belt. Rogala scored 42 goals this season, along with 50 points, 35 ground balls and 63 draw controls.
Emily Silliman and
Ella-Rae Cox helped anchor the Eagles' defense and made their debut on the All-Conference second team. Silliman posted 25 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers. Cox, who has started 18 games in goal, has a 10-1 record and has saved 105 shots while adding 27 ground balls and four caused turnovers to her stat sheet.
The Eagles now wait for May 4
for when the NCAA National Championship field is announced.
