DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its Board of Directors for the term starting July 1, 2026 on May 11. Women's Tennis Head Coach Chad Berryhill was among those named to the board, which will begin their two-year term on July 1. The decorated individuals will serve a two-year term and aid in the continued success of the ITA and college tennis.

Berryhill boasts 21 years of collegiate coaching experience, ranging from NJCAA to NCAA Division I. He began his coaching career as the women's coach at Hillsborough Community College, capturing the 2008 NJCAA National Championship. He then joined the University of Central Florida Knights as the Men's Assistant Coach before returning to his alma mater, Ferris State, winning the 2016 GLIAC Men's Championship and achieving a Final Four appearance. Five great years at Ferris State led Berryhill to Florida once again, winning multiple Sunshine State Conference titles with the Saint Leo Lions and winning the ITA National Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2023.

In his third season with the Embry-Riddle Eagles, Berryhill reached a national ranking of No. 2, posted a 23-3 final record, and hosted the South Regional for the first time in program history. Berryhill remains heavily involved in the college tennis community, serving as the National Award Chair for the ITA, sits on the ITA South region ranking committee, and is a member of the ITA Division II Operating Committee and the NCAA Coaches Connection.

The Board, according to the ITA, "focuses on high-level matters such as big-picture thinking, strategic planning, endowing the ITA, fundraising for the ITA, and helping enhance the visibility and stature of both collegiate varsity tennis and the ITA in the tennis world and the world of varsity college athletics." There are also 16 characteristics and competencies the nominating committee generally considers as guideposts, including hard traits/skills such as financial acumen as well as soft traits/skills such as integrity and reliability. With his extensive coaching résumé and longstanding service to the college tennis community, Berryhill is well positioned to contribute to a board whose members, according to the ITA, "capitalize upon their balanced and well-rounded set of viewpoints to help ensure the long-term sustainability of college tennis as one of the most vibrant college sports."
