AUSTIN, Texas — Embry-Riddle women's tennis had two players named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America First Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Amelie Gindl, the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, held down the No. 1 singles spot as well as a spot on the No. 1 doubles team for the Blue & Gold. She continued to excel on the court and in the classroom, earning her second First Team honor in the past two years. Laura Cuesta Bret earned her first nod to the CSC Academic All-America Team, joining doubles playing partner Gindl on the First Team. In addition to her doubles play at No. 1, Cuesta Bret secured the Eagles' No. 2 singles spot. Cuesta Bret maintains a 3.97 GPA in Aerospace Engineering and also enjoyed joining her teammates in the community. She spent numerous hours lending a hand at High Five Fridays at South Daytona Elementary, helped set up the Student Athlete Banquet and assisted at the Halifax Humane Society.
