DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle women's tennis head coach Chad Berryhill was awarded the 2026 Racquet Sports Professionals Association Florida Division Coach of the Year award on Saturday.
It marked the third time in his career that Berryhill has been named the Florida Division Coach of the Year, having previously earned the honor in 2019 and 2024 when the organization was still called the United States Professional Tennis Association. With the same organization, he was named the USPTA Steve Wilkinson Collegiate Coach of the Year in 2023.
In addition to the RSPA honor, Berryhill was also recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year, becoming just the fourth coach in conference history to receive the honor in multiple seasons and the first coach in Embry-Riddle program history to earn the recognition.
Berryhill guided the Eagles to their best season in Division II, finishing with an overall record of 23-3. Their only losses came at the hands of SSC champions and nationally ranked No. 1 Barry University and eventual national champions Nova Southeastern. Along with the stellar record, Berryhill led the Blue & Gold to hosting their first-ever NCAA South Regional and advancing to the SSC Tournament Final for the first time in program history.
Berryhill remains active in the tennis community. In addition to his recent recognition, he was named to the ITA Board of Directors, adding to a long list of involvements that includes serving as national chair for the ITA, sitting on the ITA South Region Ranking Committee and holding membership on both the ITA Division II Operating Committee and the NCAA Coaches Connection.
The Eagles will resume action in the fall of 2026 and will look to continue their ascent into national title contention behind Berryhill's leadership.
