DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle junior
Andrea Froshaug was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® College Division women's soccer first team on Thursday. The 2014 Academic All-America teams were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 or better cumulative grade point average. The Capital One Academic All-America® College Division soccer teams are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.
Froshaug (Oslo, Norway), a second-year player, is majoring in Business Administration and has a 3.90 GPA. An NAIA Third Team All-American and honorable mention All-Conference honoree in 2013, the forward was named to the All-Sun Conference first team in 2014. The Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1, Froshaug is currently leading the Eagles in scoring with 32 points on 13 goals and six assists and is tied for second in game-winning goals with two.
Froshaug joins ERAU Hall of Famer Katrina Morgan and
Martine Olsen as the only three ERAU women's soccer players to garner first team Academic All-America recognition.
