DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The second-ranked Embry-Riddle men's tennis team wrapped up its streak of six matches in seven days with a 9-0 shutout of No. 18 Oklahoma Baptist, Tuesday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The win puts the Eagles at 11-3 on the year, while the Bison fall to 4-6 with the loss.
 
The Eagles' first point came at third flight doubles where Rodolfo Arreygue and Miguel Lopez Gomez eased past Babji Atturu and Jacob Albritton 8-1. The second-ranked ERAU duo of Deni Zmak and Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios followed with an 8-4 win over No. 12 Daniel Aguilera and Luis Romero, and Fabian Zierlyn and Carlos Becke made it 3-0 with their 8-6 defeat of Michael Vetter and Thomas Ackernecht at No. 3.
 
It took Zmak just 50 minutes to score the first singles point for the Eagles as he came away with a straight-set, 6-1, 6-0 victory over Aguilera at the top spot. Luke de Caires sealed the win for the Blue and Gold with his 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Russ Gehrig at No. 5.
 
All four of the remaining singles matches were straight-set wins for the Eagles including a pair of 6-1, 6-1 decisions for Sanchez-Canamares at the second position and Zierlyn at the third spot. Arreygue bested Atturu 6-0, 6-3 on court six and Becke assured the Eagles of the shutout by beating Ackernecht 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4.
 
The Eagles will have a seven-day lay-off until their next match, which will be a 3:30 p.m. home fixture against Sun Conference foe Webber International.
