DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team earned its second shutout of 2017-18 with a 9-0 victory over West Chester (2-4), Sunday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The Eagles are now 4-5 on the year, and will return to action at 11 a.m. on Tuesday when they hold Bluefield State.
The Eagles won all three doubles matches by scores of 8-2 as Robert Krvajica and
Lydia Carter downed Julia Mowrey and Sofia Von der Heyde at No. 3,
Georgina Wood and Sabrina Ehrenfort topped Leah Roelker and Elaina Rockford at No. 2, and
Maria Turrillo and
Kathryn Bock bested Rylee Power and Shannon Nixon at No. 1.
Krvajica notched her first shutout of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Roelker at No. 2 singles, and Wood scored the clinching point with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Nixon on court three.
Turrillo (No. 1) and Carter (No. 6) each earned 6-1, 6-1 victories over Power and Von der Heyde, respectively, while Ehrenfort topped Rockford 6-1, 6-2 at the fourth spot, and Bock downed Mowrey 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5
