DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team currently sits on top of the leaderboard at the Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships with 94 points. A dominant showing in the javelin, where the Eagles claimed the top four spots, along with a gold-medal performance in the hammer throw, highlighted a standout day of competition.
Championship performances:
- Hammer Throw – Tristen Wheaton dominated the event, with a winning throw of 50.84m (three meters further then his competitor in second), securing the gold medal.
- Javelin Throw – Embry-Riddle proved why they are the top javelin team in the South Region, sweeping the top four positions. Noah Gammichia placed fourth with a throw of 58.00m, Aden Parsons claimed bronze with 59.33m, and Chase O'Connell earned silver at 60.05m. Ryan Flournoy led the field, capturing gold with a throw of 66.05m—the sixth-longest in ERAU history. The top three Eagles all met the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field provisional standard.
- Decathlon – Carter Speh holds first place after day one of the decathlon. He delivered a standout performance with two first-place finishes and three second-place results, setting himself up strongly heading into the final four events tomorrow.
