JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Men's Track and Field competed in the historic Bob Hayes Classic, hosted by the University of North Florida, seeing numerous personal records set.
Derick Brown came in first place in the 110m hurdles, running it in a time of 14.57, good for a personal best and the fifth-fastest time in Eagles history. In addition Colin McHugh and Aaron Strauber set personal records of 15.50 an 16.63.
Kobe Diggs set a personal record in the 100m, running it in a time of 11.04.
K'Anthony Benjamin set new career bests in both the 200m (22.12) and 400m (53.58)
Joshua Dixon, Jacob Swavely and Matt Larsen all set career bests in the hammer throw, finishing fourth through sixth place with tosses of 42.98m, 42.74m and 40.14m respectively.
Colin McNally, Michael Kotey and Alec Zaller finished second through fourth in the pole vault, with marks of 4.25m, 4.10m and 3.80m respectively.
Jacob D'Aleo (1:53.88) and Jake Fritz (1:54.63) secured the top two spots in the 800m, while Lucca DiMario set a personal record of 1:59.53.
Carter Speh and Drake Stephan set career bests in the 400m, finishing in second and fourth place with times of 49.40 and 50.43.
The Eagles occupied places three through five in the 400m hurdles, with finishes of 55.21, 56.19 and 56.71 from Brown, McHugh and Chris Abell.
Antonio Caito finished second in the triple jump with a 14.68m leap, sixth-best in ERAU history.
Chance Tressler came in third place in the men shot put with a toss of 13.97m. In addition, Nathan Wyant set a pesonal outdoor record with 11.63m, while 11.75m was a personal record for Michael Holmberg.
The Eagles dominated in the javelin, with Ryan Flournoy coming in first place with a 59.07m throw (hitting a provisional mark), followed by Chase O'Connell's personal record of 56.61m and Noah Gammichia in third place with 54.91m. In addition, Aden Parsons came in fifth with 51.68m and Joseph Rigo was behind him with a career record of 45.84m.
William Fiesbeck set an outdoor career best in the 800m, running it in a time of 1:59.01.
ERAU had two top-five finishers in the discus, with Dixon setting a personal record of 42.03m to place third, with Swavely (41.92m) being one spot behind him. Two other personal records were set, with Matt Larsen's 39.68m toss and 35.43m from Eli Moon.
Isaiah Kline set a personal best in the high jump with a 1.85m leap.
In the evening, Simon Cole set a personal record time in the 5000m, running the event in 14:58.28. In addition, Nicholas Scarangelli set a career outdoor record of 15:14.46.
Tanner Rosolino also set a personal best, running the 10000m in 30:47.51, good for second place and seventh-best in program history.
On Saturday, the Eagles took first place in the 4x100m relay, as Brown, Craig Dedrick III, Adam Landen and K'Anthony Benjamin finished in a time of 41.26, the second fastest time in program history.
Dedrick also finished top five in the 100m with a time of 11.16.
In the 4x400m ERAU took second, as the team of Brown, Landen, D'Aleo and Fritz completed it in 3:17.88.
Next up is a trip to Orlando, where the Eagles will be taking part in the Knights Invitational hosted by UCF next Friday.
