Men's Track and Field Shines in the Eagles Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Men's Track and Field made the most of its home meet, capturing first place on six different occasions at the ERAU Track & Field Complex in the Eagles Invite.

The Eagles dominated the javelin, as Noah Gammichia (58.75m), Chase O'Connell (57.99m) and Aden Parsons (49.68m) placed first, second and fifth respectively. Additionally, Gammichia and Tristen Wheaton (40.82m) set personal bests, with Gammichia reaching a provisional standard.

Chance Tressler came in second place in the shot put with a 14.43m toss, followed by Michael Holmberg (11.93m) in fifth place. Tressler set a career record in the process, as did Nathan Wyant with a 11.88m throw.

In the 110m hurdles Derick Brown set the second-best time in program history, as he won the event in 14.26, meeting a provisional standard and setting a personal record.

The Eagles occupied the top five spots in the hammer, as Tressler (44.27m), Wheaton (41.23m), Matt Larsen (39.96m), Gammichia (38.35m) and Joshua Dixon (37.95m) placed first through fifth, with Tressler setting a career best.

Craig Dedrick III came in third place in the 100m with a time of 10.64, setting a personal record and placing him seventh all-time in the event in program history. In addition, Joey Johnson (10.91) set a personal record and Aaron Strauber (11.76) tied his career best time.

Jake Fritz took first place in the 800m with a 1:52.66 time, while Charles Hruda placed third with 1:54.02, as he, Jack Brooks (1:57.98) and Lucca DiMario (1:58.28) all recorded the best times of their careers.

Colin McHugh won the 400m in 54.28, setting a personal best.

Carter Speh came in fifth place in the 200m with a 22.28 time.

Jeremy Mog (1.92m) and Isaiah Kline (1.82m) made up second and third place in the high jump, with Mog's leap being a personal record.

Dixon came in first place in the discus with a 43.75m throw, followed in second by Jacob Swavely with 43.16m, as both they and Nathan Wyant (31.53m) set personal bests.

Nicholas Scarangelli came in third place in the 1500m with a time of 3:52.44 while Andrew Stowe's 3:54.39 time placed him in fifth, as they set career records, as did Brandon Santangelo (4:02.31) and Simon Cole (4:03.56).

Ethan Stout finished in second in the 5000m, setting an outdoor personal record of 15:26.62.

In the pole vault, Conrad Prisby and Michael Kotey tied for second place with 4.40m, followed by John Bai in fifth (3.65m). Additionally, Carter Speh set a personal record with 3.35m.

The Eagles are set to stay at home, as ERAU will host the Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Championships on April 29-30.
