ABOUT THE EAGLES
Embry-Riddle improved its 2015 record to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in The Sun Conference with a 5-1 win over conference foe Southeastern on Thursday. The Eagles won easily at the second and third doubles positions, but were unable to pull off the doubles sweep as Gelawdiyos Haile and David Veliz upended top-ranked Deni Zmak and Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios 9-7 at the top doubles spot. Carlos Becke shut out Jordan Harris, followed by Fabian Zierlyn's 6-0, 6-2 win over Andrew Dickens and Rodolofo Arreygue clinched the team victory by dispatching Nate Gangelhoff 6-2, 6-0.
 
Zmak leads the Eagles with 15 singles wins and hast teamed up with Sanchez-Canamares for 15 wins in doubles play. Freshamn Rodolgo Arreygue is undefeated in singles at 7-0 on the year.

ABOUT THE BUCCANEERS
NCAA II 2014 national semifinalist Barry is 2-0 so far this season. The Buccaneers are playing their first match in 10 days with their last match ending in an 8-1 decision against St. Thomas on Feb. 11. Barry was  25-3 last season and returns six letterwinners, including third-ranked Fabian Groetsch No. 4 Ahmed Triki, No. 26 Nico Dreer  and No. 48 Kevin Sielmann. Groetsch and Triki are ranked No. 14 in doubles.

THE ERAU-BU SERIES
The Barry and Embry-Riddle men's tennis teams have done battle 11 times. The Buccaneers lead the all-time series 10-1, including a 9-0 victory over the Eagles on Feb. 9, 2014.

The Last Meeting
Doubles play saw Ollie Lemaitre and Renato Lombardi top Miguel Lopez Gomez and Luke de Caires 8-4 at No. 3 doubles, while 14th-ranked Fabian Groetsch and Ahmed Triki bested ERAU's top-ranked duo of Deni Zmak and Simon Felix, 8-5. The match at No. 2 doubles was a closely contested affair and in the end it was the Barry team of Romain Costamanga and Leo Vivas that was able to hold off Patrick Besch and Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios, 9-8 with a 7-4 edge in the tie-breaker.

Needing just two favorable singles decisions to claim the team victory, Barry notched straight-set wins at the third, fourth and sixth positions as Nico Dreer topped Felix 6-2, 6-1, Vivas downed Besch 6-4, 6-0 and Franco Echenique bested de Caires 6-2, 6-1.

Although the match was decided, the players still on the court continued to battle hard and all three remaining matches went to three sets. On court one, Zmak took the first set against Triki 6-3, but Triki rebounded to take the next two sets 6-4 and 10-4, respectively. Next to them, on court two, Costamanga also dropped his first set against Sanchez-Canamares  6-3, but fought back to the win the match 6-4, 10-7.

The final match off the court was at No. 5 singles where Lopez Gomez took the first set against Kevin Sielmann. The next two sets were close and in the end, Sielmann was able to hold off Lopez Gomez 3-6, 7-5, 10-8.

The Eagles are ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 poll, marking the 10th consecutive season that ERAU Men's Tennis is ranked among the nation's top five. The Eagles have three student-athletes ranked among the nation's Top 50, including No. 1 Deni Zmak and No. 15 Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios. Zmak and Felix also comprise the top-ranked doubles team in the nation while Miguel Lopez Gomez and Luke de Caires are ranked 24th.
